As the Clinton County Development Association awarded $400,000 across 15 projects, it invited organizations to apply for the fall grant cycle. It also announced a training session on applying.
The CCDA Board, which approved the spring grants at its meeting Wednesday at Wild Rose Casino, received 27 requests in the cycle totaling $1,017,100.
Recipients of the grants are required to contribute 25% of their project’s cost.
Hometown Pride organizations were applicants in three of the grants totaling $68,600.
The awards are:
- $56,000 to the Clinton County Agricultural Society, which puts on the county fair, to renovate the North Hall at the fairgrounds in DeWitt.
- $55,000 to the city of Clinton for an Eagle Point Park Trail Project.
- $50,700 to the Welton Volunteer Fire Department for a helipad.
- $48,000 to the Clinton Public Library for new library furniture.
- $42,400 to Skyline Center, Inc. for a day habilitation vehicle replacement.
- $41,300 to Lost Nation Booster/Lost Nation Hometown Pride for a playground equipment project.
- $27,650 to the Downtown Clinton Alliance for beautification of downtown.
- $23,300 to Wheatland Hometown Pride for the CW walking path part 1.
- $11,700 to the Friends of Riverview Stadium for Riverview Stadium 2025.
- $11,250 to the DeWitt Nite Lions for a trailer replacement.
- $5,000 to Scouting America Troop 22 (American Legion) for a scout unit trailer.
- $4,000 to Calamus-Wheatland Hometown Pride for the Calamus Historical Society and Museum project.
- $2,000 to Lutheran Services in Iowa for early childhood child abuse prevention services in Clinton County.
- $1,700 to the Charlotte Volunteer Fire Department for tactical gloves and auxiliary air hose.
APPLY NOW FOR FALL GRANTS
Grant applications for the fall 2025 grant round have been available since Wednesday, June 4.
Grant applications are on-line and can be found at the Clinton County Development Association’s website at www.clintoncountydevelopment.org. The maximum amount that can be requested is $75,000.
Fall grants are awarded with the goal of accomplishing economic, civic or community development within Clinton County. The 2025 total allocation for the fall grants is $400,000. Applicants may apply for no more than $75,000 and must show a 25% match. In determining whether an organization meets the matching funds requirement, in-kind contributions of labor or land toward the specific grant shall not qualify toward the 25%. In-kind material contributions will qualify. In order to be considered, an organization cannot have more than two open CCDA grants at the time the application is due.
All applications must be submitted on-line by the deadline of 4:30 p.m., Aug. 13.
The grants will be awarded in November.
GRANT TRAINING SESSION JULY 23
